Using and programming a NEO-6 GPS receiver module
Message settings may be useful when you only need a few messages, like $GPRMC for example, and don’t need the other messages. You can turn them off one by one by choosing the wanted message and removing the ticks at appropriate ports. You can also change the rate the messages are being sent at by modifying the number next to the tick. The number signifies how many seconds are between to sends of the same message. You should accept any changes made by pressing Send button in the lower left corner of the configure dialog.
On ports setting you can modify the baudrate as you need.
After you click Send button the baudrate of the module will imidiately change and the uControl will lose connection with the module. To restore the connection choose the baudrate you just set from the baudrate menu.
Some addinitonal settings that may be of interest are for example to can choose which sattelite systems are to be used by the module. Also SBAS can be turned off for certain applications like drone autopilots, where you don’t want any sudden jumps of the position that are the result of SBAS messages being received and position correction being applied.
